I really enjoyed this intern program assignment. It MADE me dive right into lighting! Scary to say the least….I had a great team which consisted of Matthew and Vania. Matthew had the strip box and a couple of Norman 400b’s and lots of experience. I borrowed Chris’ beauty dish, speedlights, Paul Buff transmitter & receivers, and Vania came through with a model that was just FAB! I attempted to do a lighting diagram( tough!) but I think it gets the point across. The first 3 were done as the lighting diagram explains but then we moved lights around for a different affect on the last 2. The strip softbox was used as hair light at 10 o’clock along with the beauty dish about 4 ft back at about 4 o’clock. We each took about 15 minutes to shoot. ( Text by Susan Luther)
Photography Assignment 6 was really foreign to me because I have never worked with any kind of lighting modifiers or in a photography studio before, so it was great experience for me! Luckily, I had an amazing team of people around that knew what they were doing… (Ahem, thank you to Susan and Matthew) The first shot is done with the lighting diagram instructions, it made for a great beauty shot to add to my photography portfolio. The rest were done by playing with the light modifiers to get different effects. I definitely need more practice with this to learn what it is I’m actually doing tech wise, otherwise I am just going by visual circumstances. (text by Vania Elise)

Main light (beauty dish) is high and to the subject's 10 o'clock, with the stripbox at the subject's 4-5 o'clock. A fan was directly in front of the subject for effect. Photo by Matthew Strauss

Main light, still a beauty dish, was brought to the subject's 11 o'clock, the stripbox, background light, and fan (now at a slightly lower power setting) remain the same. Photo by Matthew Strauss

Kicker light removed, the beauty dish is high and to the subject's 10 o'clock, the background light remains the same. No fan was used for this shot. Photo by Matthew Strauss
