I ran into this guy in Flagstaff  and asked him if I could take his portrait. All ambient light. What do you think? I would love to do this again- I wasn’t really prepared but couldn’t miss out on the opportunity.

Note from CB: If anyone as any thoughts or ideas of what to do with the subject and his very cool prop please share them!

About Terri Attridge

My name is Terri Attridge -I am originally from New Jersey and have now been a Grand Canyon resident for a year and a half. Although this is quite a switch from the East Coast, I am really having a great time here. I am loving Arizona, and I’m a stranger in my own new state. I have been almost everywhere in a ten hour radius from Southern Utah to Mexico! As New Jersey is a very densely populated state, the landscape here seems unbelievably expansive to me. I’ve witnessed the most amazing sunsets and stars that I have ever seen- here in Arizona. I am fascinated by the remaining ghost towns and enthralled to photograph them. Photographing ghost towns might be one of my most favorite things to do with my free time. I am also an avid hiker and find hiking in Arizona challenging but very rewarding. Other than that I enjoy art, good cups of coffee in remote places, trying new and unusual foods, Halloween, volunteering, the free section on craigslist, big dogs, diners, antiques, summiting mountains, etsy.com, the idea of mermaids, cooking, and the beach(from which I am very far). I’m extremely happy to be a part of this internship!

    Hey Terri,
Well there isn’t really much here except motivation to do another shoot with this guy and his bike where you have more control. Definitely a very cool opportunity. I think just from the shots you got you can see some great peeks at what strong graphic framing can do for you. The brick wall is actually a pretty good shot with the bike rack photoshopped out and a slightly tighter crop. Think about some wardrobe options, the right location(s) and definitely the time of day and any artificial lighting possibilities. Look forward to seeing this the second time around.

Thanks- I hope I see this guy again- I reeeaaaally want to do this again with lighting. I just think its all a little flat. I would like to see it pop more.

THE ONE NEXT TO THE RED BRICK WALL IS REALLY COOL, BECAUSE OF THE BMX BIKE IN THE FORGROUND AND THE RED BRICKS TEXTURE. IT GIVES IT A SENSE OF SOLITUDE.
